The Patient Centricity organization is dedicated to transforming Amgen in building capabilities and designing methods/tools to incorporate the patient voice throughout the product life cycle.
As the Patient Engagement Strategy Director you will be responsible for designing tools and building capabilities to incorporate the patient voice across Amgen with a secondary focus on a specific disease state. The director will embed best practices to incorporate the patient voice; pilot new areas to involve patients; establish metrics to determine the value of patient-centric activities; and champion a patient centric culture.
In order to be successful in this role you will need a solid foundation to identify and execute new approaches to obtain and incorporate patient /consumer needs into strategy and decision making, an ability to learn and capacity to make decisions / recommendations despite a large degree of ambiguity and experience in coaching peers.
Key responsibilities include:
Build, maintain, and evolve approaches and standards to incorporate the patient voice
Monitor external landscape to ensure Amgen is best-in-class at methods incorporating patient voiceAligns with Disease Area Focus (Cardiovascular, Oncology, Neuroscience, Bone and/or Inflammation)
Differentiate from competitors
Execute cross-functional programs for patient voice across functions / teams in the following areas: Target Product Profile, Dosing Experience, Clinical Trial Effectiveness, Regulatory Filing Support, Patient Reported Outcomes and Adherence relating to process, competency, resources and behaviors.
Identify new areas to benefit from integrating the patient voice into strategy/ decision making
Partner with Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance/Privacy to develop compliant Patient Voice friendly operating structure
Design methodology and metrics for measuring success of Patient Centricity
Analyze and interpret metrics and assess value that patient voice is delivering to the business
Represent and advise leaders on Patient Centricity perspective in key trade-off discussions
Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing and/or consumer insight experience
Master's degree and 7 years of marketing and/or consumer insight experience
Bachelor's degree and 9 years of marketing and/or consumer insight experience
10+ years of experience interacting with and/or representing patients and/or consumers
Able to review, evaluate, interpret and present complex data
Experience with patient journey or consumer experience framework
Experience with the commercial and product development process or disease area expertise
Able to set priorities and manage cross-functional teams and complex projects to deliver milestones
Experience driving organizational and cultural change
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; includes strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively across the matrix
Flexibility to work within a fast changing environment and cope with degrees of ambiguity
Strong advisory and influencing skills including senior leadership
Foundational marketing skills and business strategy
Empathic and passionate individual with the ability to build meaningful experiences with patients/caregivers, understanding the impact of living with a specific disease (Cardiovascular, Oncology, Neuroscience, Bone and/or Inflammation)
