Accountemps is currently anticipating the need for a Payroll Accountant for our SW Tucson client. The Payroll Accountant assumes ownership of payrolls and related processes for assigned facilities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1) advance knowledge, use and application of the Paycom payroll 2) understanding of the Fair Labor Standards Act and other state and federal laws influencing pay practices 3) ensures adherence to payroll policies/practices or known best practices 4) reviews and audits the work product for accuracy to minimize errors 5) performs accounting functions related to payroll and tax obligations 6) prepares management reports in support of timely decision making 7) continuously evolves efficiencies within the payroll / benefit administration area. This position has high access to HIPAA governed, confidential and proprietary information, thus discretion with high levels of customer services is required all times. Responsibilities and Duties: 1) High level of attention to detail and customary review for accuracy 2) Ability to 10-key with sufficient speed and correctness 3) Computer and other office equipment proficiency including intermediate functions of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook 4) Intermediate use of Excel functions such as custom sort, V/H – look-ups and pivot tables within large data spreadsheets 5) Verbally communicates with clarity. Written communication is concise with attention to business etiquette and professionalism 6) Strong team player with an awareness of personal contribution and meeting expectations as agreed 7) Initiates continuing professional development.
