The Payroll Administrator provides a short term temporary-to-fulltime role from its Santa Monica, California location. Your responsibilities - Payroll record maintenance by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers - Continue implementation of established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations, reporting changes where necessary - Manage employee deductions and other liabilities - Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines - Promote employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and keeping information confidential - Handle other duties as necessary - Draft reports by organizing all summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages - Proper payroll information maintenance by collecting, calculating, and entering data - Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments - Handle specific weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for department heads - Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information - Provide assistance as necessary for all internal and external audits related to payroll - Manage and review, including verify, source documents - Take charge of all questions and requests related to payroll
