What you get to do every single day - Detail all payroll liabilities by establishing employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payment - Reconciling of employee deductions and other liabilities - Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information - Answer questions and requests related to payroll information - Preparing reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages - Draft relevant year-end reports, as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly ones, for department heads - Proper payroll information maintenance by collecting, calculating, and entering data - Other duties as assigned - Exercise review and verification of source documents - Maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping information confidential - Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines - Deliver assistance to payroll with internal and external audits - Understand and report necessary changes to payroll operations by maintaining established policies and procedures - Updating payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
