A well respected, growing service organization is looking to full-time a Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist will assist in the accurate processing of weekly payroll checks and assist in designated payroll projects. The Payroll Specialist supports the company goals by focusing on personal and department accountability, customer service and work efficiency. Essential Job Functions: Responsibilities for the Payroll Processor include: • Biweekly Semi Monthly - Reconcile payroll transactions using various pre-established reports. Present an overview of activities, material changes and work with internal Business Partners and Payroll team to resolve out of balance conditions. • Quarterly - Using preview reports, reconcile quarterly activity to ensure accurate reporting of payroll taxes • Assist in the accuracy of W-2 T4's (year round) and coordinate the issuance of W-2C, on an as needed basis. • Maintains and process payments for LOA's for coordinated earnings and hours. • Ensures compensation payments, awards, and various bonuses are paid accurately. Responsibilities may range from ensuring calculations are correct and in compliance with payroll regulations to calculating grossed-up payments and determining when supplemental tax treatment should apply. • Monitors payments to non-exempt commissioned employees since all overtime payments must be made on the adjusted (base + commission) hourly rate. • Maintains current documentation and prepares new documentation as necessary. • Process US Payrolls and cross train on Canadian • Assist with processing manual and auditing checks (MCR's) on a daily basis and / or as needed • Department Resource for basic training of entry level-level payroll specialists. • Acts as resource to create special reports for management.
