Adecco's Service Delivery Center is assisting one of our high profile clients in staffing a contract position for a Payroll Consultant in Jersey City, NJ.

Position Details

Position: Payroll Consultant

Location: Jersey City, NJ

Duration: Six Months


Process biweekly and monthly payrolls to ensure timely and accurate paychecks.
Work within ADP NAS model using ADP Enterprise.
Manually calculate payments for new hires, terminations, LOAs, severance, vacation, retroactive pay and other payments as requested.
Responsible for interpreting payroll policies and ensures appropriate tax, benefits, garnishment deductions are calculated and applied correctly.
Verifies associate state and local taxes are set up based on associate's work location.
Conducts audits of benefit interfaces on a biweekly, monthly and annual basis comparing Broadridge Payroll against benefits data provided by vendors to ensure deductions amounts are accurate and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Interpret court orders to appropriately withhold tax levies and other garnishments.
Research and resolve issues directly with the courts.
Investigate tax delinquent notices with Payroll vendor and agencies for resolution and accurate reporting. Follows Corporate SOX internal controls and utilizes the pre and post audits cycle checklists to enforce compliance.
Also, responsible for completing monthly SOX testing.
Act as Tier 2 level support for HR Help Desk Reps.
Research complex payroll and tax escalations, such as state/local tax withholding errors due to incorrect work location.
Work with ADP Tax Filing to ensure the accuracy of payroll tax filing and to correct errors timely to ensure accuracy, to minimize tax penalties and company exposure.
Review and balance the quarterly Wage and Tax reports (W&T) against the Statement of Deposits (SODs). Maintain BR Company profile (BR federal, state and local accounts).
Complete and conducts analysis of W-2 errors as a result of associate inquiry.
Makes determination regarding appropriate corrective action and process amended W-2s as needed and ensure communication with associate throughout process.
Recommend process improvement opportunities.
Document department processes and update SOPs.
Train other team members as needed


Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent experience preferred.
Requires advanced knowledge of payroll tax regulations to interpret Federal and state laws.
Knowledge of EeTIME TLM system and FLSA guidelines.
At least 5 + years of payroll experience.
Payroll Certification required.
