Adecco Direct-Hire has an immediate opening for a Payroll Specialist in Irvine. This is a full time in-house position with a leading manufacturing company. The selected Payroll Specialist will perform daily payroll department operations, including collecting, calculating, and entering data. Manages individual workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed in an efficient and timely manner.
Performs pre-transmission payroll reconciliation and validates confirmed reports.
Updates payroll records. Accurately enters changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title.
Creates reports by compiling summaries of earnings, deductions, taxes, disability, and nontaxable wages.
Resolves payroll discrepancies quickly and efficiently.
Ensures proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
Handles daily payroll department operations, including collecting, calculating, and entering data.
Provides payroll information to employees in a professional manner.


CPP preferred but not required.
1-3 years of experience processing payroll.
Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations.
Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel .
Knowledge of ADP EV5.
Strong work ethic and team player.
High degree of professionalism.
Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
