A Performance Engineering COE Leader job in Naples, FL is available through Adecco Engineering & Technology for our client. This is a Direct Hire position requiring at least 10 years related experience in an enterprise environment.

Serves as an application performance engineering leader who will establish a shared service IT capability for end-to-end application performance engineering, testing and certification.
The Performance Engineering COE Leader will define and implement the enterprise application performance engineering strategy with focus on business critical applications. This position works closely with the High Availability Team (HAT), monitoring teams, application development and support teams, and infrastructure teams to ensure optimally performing production applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish enterprise application performance engineering strategy with focus on business critical applications.
Imbed performance engineering practices (process, deliverables, tooling) into the SDLC starting at requirements phase and continuing through production release.
Define and implement end-to-end application performance certification (process, deliverables, tooling) to ensure applications consistently meet SLOs in production.
Implement scanning of developer code against a standardized rule set of best practices including performance KPIs, and deliver feedback to developer and measure corrective actions.
Ensure optimally performing production applications by establishing application and transaction SLOs for performance, implementing proactive application monitoring, alarming and reporting, and ensuring adherence to and measurement against defined SLOs.
Provide for proactive performance issue identification and root cause analysis.
Define and implement performance testing approach and success criteria including governance of performance test executions, analyzing performance test results and identifying tuning/optimization opportunities based on test results.
Produce performance testing workload definition and analysis, factoring in known or projected volumes and transaction mix, to ensure coverage of critical business transactions.
Validate performance test workload and results by comparing against production actual workload and performance.
Engage Web/App/ESB/Database/Mainframe/Infrastructure teams for results analysis, product tuning, and recommendations implementation.
Establish application performance baselines and re-evaluate them at least semi-annualy based on organic/additional growth.
Monitor/Report/Trend application performance globally and identify opportunities for optimization in the application as well as components in the technology stack.
Should be prepared to work extra hours (including weekends) on an as needed basis with relatively short notice to meet deliverables.
Integrate with Business Analyst and Solutions Architects to Drive Performance throughout the Project Lifecycle and define Non-Functional Requirements related to Performance & Capacity.
Education and Experience:
This position requires a Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, and a minimum of 10+ years of Information Technology experience, ideally in medical or life sciences manufacturing industry, with specialty in the area of enterprise-scale application performance and optimization.
Delivery focused, hands-on, data driven, detail oriented approach with clear accountability for performance and execution is required.
Strong technical background in performance tuning and optimization of large global multi-tiered applications.
Experience with performance testing tools (HP Performance Center or LoadRunner, Jmeter, etc) and creating scripts, defining scenarios, etc.
Experience performance testing distributed multi-tier application with in-depth experience on web, application, relational databases (SQL Server and Oracle), and middleware.
Experience with the following highly desirable: SAP and related ERP systems, Oracle Agile PLM, Oracle SOA/Fusion middleware.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Excellent verbal & written communication, inter-personal, facilitation and presentation skills are essential to succeed in this position.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to provide "hands on" technical support and analysis on as needed basis.
Strong leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel.
Be able to work well in a team with strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to be a high-impact player on multiple simultaneous engagements.
Lead offshore team of contractors, optimizing onshore contractor resource needs.
Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
Excellent English language skills required.
