Position Summary: Responsible for providing clinical and distributive pharmacy services for all medications dispensed by CVS Specialty Operations. This position, acting in its professional capacity, directs supportive personnel such as Pharmacy Service Representatives and Pharmacy Technicians in their daily activities as it relates to managing and providing these services. Other critical responsibilities include assuring positive patient therapeutic outcomes by assessing therapy compliance and effectiveness, including appropriate coordination with other health care professionals. This position also impacts pharmacy operating efficiency and profitability by maximizing resources available to the pharmacist to provide cost-effective medication management and distributive functions.
Additional responsibilities for Compounding Pharmacy: Oversee pharmacy technicians during all hours of pharmacy operation while handling and dispensing medications, narcotics, controlled substances, and non sterile compounds thru verification of compounding procedures, calculations, and formula worksheets of non-sterile compounding products, and dispensing procedures following the Federal, State or local regulations, Boards of Pharmacy Rules and Regulations and non-government national standard-setting organizations practices and standards. Provide employee training as necessary, patient/caregiver counseling and education, drug regimen reviews, assist in processing documentation of patient/client complaints/grievances, concerns, incident reports, recalls, audits, handle hazardous drug safely, wear PPE as appropriate, oversee shipping and delivery of medication, and follow Benevere Pharmacy Policy and Procedure. Required Qualifications:5+ years experience as a pharmacist.
Preferred Qualifications: Compounding and Specialty knowledge preferred. Education: This position requires a degree in pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy. Current pharmacy license in state where branch is located.
