The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist is an experienced practitioner with advance clinical skills; he or she provides direct patient-specific pharmacotherapy and clinical services to the hospital patients following current, evidence-based guidelines and in conformity of applicable medication management standards. The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist is a medication management resource to the patient care team
Must be a graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) leading to a Bachelor of Science or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy.
Completion of an accredited Residency Program or
Pharm.D. with a minimum of three (3) years clinical pharmacy practice in a predominantly collaborative pharmacotherapy setting is required or
B.S. of Pharmacy with a minimum of five (5) years clinical pharmacy practice in a predominantly collaborative pharmacotherapy setting is required.
Current Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or other nationally recognized clinical pharmacy specialties is preferred.
Prior experience providing pharmacotherapy in a collaborative institutional setting required.
Prior experience providing education/instruction to health care professionals required.
Current Nevada license to practice pharmacy or eligibility required.
Current BLS and ACLS certificates required.
