Position Summary:

Do you enjoy working in a fast pace and dynamic environment? This opening presents the opportunity for you to work in such an environment as you perform order entry tasks and the related activities in support of the medication dispensing process, additionally you will calculate and/or verify the correct dosage based on the prescriptions.

Primary Responsibilities:

In this role you will

  • Enter new and refill orders in a timely and accurate manner; you process orders based upon priority assigned

  • Batch and print labels, forms and delivery tickets

  • Prepare backup pharmacy orders

  • Consistently follow a process that addresses all state and federal guidelines regarding medication labeling to ensure compliance.

  • Provide dispensing pharmacists with information regarding allergies and drug interactions, therapeutic duplication, and other items that the computer flags.

  • Courteously assist all internal and external customers

  • Consult with dispensing pharmacist regarding prescription order clarification, non-stock items, order entry problems or concerns.

  • Complete all data fields according to pharmacy procedures including use of approved abbreviations.

  • Diligently follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA.

  • Assist with pharmacy workflow as needed

  • Other duties as assigned; Job duties may vary by location.

    Part-Time Position: 20 hours a week, rotating shifts between 8am and 6pm.

Required Qualifications:

You have

  • Earned a high school diploma or its equivalent

  • Knowledge regarding medical terminology (including sig codes and Roman numeral), brand and generic names of medications and general pharmacy terminology

  • Math skills at or above a basic level and you possesses analytical skills

  • The ability to read, write, speak and understand the English

  • You are a registered technician as required by the state

Preferred Qualifications:

You have

  • Experience which includes pharmacy technician and data entry

  • You exhibit good interpersonal and collaborative skills

  • You are both able to and enjoy work independently, while meeting deadlines and being flexible

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • The ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently when inputting information

  • The ability to maintain composure on phone when handling customer calls.

  • Intermediate typing/keyboarding skills

  • Verbal and written communication skills are excellent

  • High School degree or equivalent
