Position Summary:
Advanced Care Scripts (ACS), a CVS Health Company, manages and dispenses specialty medications and products nationwide. Our comprehensive patient care model provides compliance and adherence support and cost-effective solutions for all classes of specialty medications.

Shift: M-F, 11am-8pm

Overview:
The Specialty Pharmacy Technician I assists pharmacists in the filling and dispensing of prescription medication by preparing prescription drug orders according to information provided while verifying patient information, medication inform ation, and labeling for final check.

Key Responsibilities:
-Counts, packages, and labels unit for inspection by pharmacist
-Assists pharmacists as directed, including filling orders and preparing labels
-Maintains pharmacy inventory and performs clerical duties
-Maintains strong knowledge of pharmacy policies and government regulations and performs dispensing duties accordingly
-Assists with quality improvement initiatives
-Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required -Assists Pharmacist with the information required for consults with patients regarding medications or supplies prescribed including dosage frequency, specialized requirements, and possible drug interactions
-Process prescription refills from "Process RX/Print Labels" enterprise list
-Contacts prescribers for clarifications and refills
-Assist in faxing physicians’ offices for prescription renewals as needed for various prescription gathering lists
-Scan orders and set up orders as needed for verbal prescriptions received
-Answer pharmacy phone calls and route to pharmacist when appropriate
-Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPPA

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent GED
  • Current clear and active Florida Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to express ideas clearly both written and oral communications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra
  • Ability to common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Flexibility to change priorities as needed
  • Good typing skills


Preferred Qualifications:
  • PTCB Certification
  • Previous specialty pharmacy experience










Education:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent GED
  • Current clear and active Florida Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration
