Physical Therapy Asst PRN IRF

Supports the mission of the hospital to provide patients with the highest quality of healthcare in a caring atmosphere. The physical therapy assistant is responsible for administering physical therapy interventions of treatment as directed by evaluating physical therapist. Administers treatments and physical agents under supervision of physical therapist in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Assists PT with ongoing reassessment of treatment interventions and discharge planning. The PTA maintains improvement activities within the department and participates in PI activities. Ensures that patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis. Promotes teamwork with physicians and other departments. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
AA degree from accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program

Current PTA licensure by the State of Georgia.

Strong communication skills in both oral and written format. Ability to problem-solve, and seek assistance from team members when necessary. Basic knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology. Basic knowledge of physical therapy machine operation and maintenance. Basic computer knowledge.

Must be flexible and service oriented.
