The Fuel and Motion Control Systems Division of Eaton’s Aerospace Group has an opening for Senior Planner. The position is based in Jackson, MS.


The Jackson facility has approximately 500 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets. 


The Senior Planner is responsible for driving on-time delivery through material flow planning and ensuring optimal scheduling of production units.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Manage material flow (WIP – “work in process”) through analysis of diverse reports and perform critical analysis to avoid operation disruptions caused by material availability or constraints.
  • Manage the work order function which entails, but is not limited to, expediting late or issuing components, maintaining MRP planning parameters, creation/closure of all work orders based on established ERP best practices, and managing rework of reusable core parts.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and influence multiple functional departments including: Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, Operations and other Supply Chain members.
  • Own the metrics of past due order reduction, MPS on-time delivery, on-time delivery of units to internal and external customers, and work order accuracy.
  • Participate in and lead business processes improvement events such as Continuous Improvement Framework, kaizens and workshops in order to improve processes and reduce waste.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of procedures and techniques which will improve the planning function.
  • Actively participate in process improvement and creation/adhering to standard work. 
  • Establish optimal inventory levels to achieve desired service, while utilizing just in time inventory management philosophies.
  • Forecast repair volume and work with the High Performance Team Leader’s schedule in order to meet customers’ contractual due dates.         
  • ERP parameter settings including ABC updates in ERP system.
  • Tracking of cost out, purchase price variance, and small business metrics.
  • Supplier Schedule and consignment setup in ERP system.  Assist with invoice on hold and resolve payment issues.
  •  Manage kits bill of material setup for kits in ERP system.

  • Ability to determine the production capacity required by the assigned cell to meet forecasted customer demand/master plan.
  • Ability to work effectively with customer service to clarify requirements and identify solutions when constraints exist.
  • Ability to effectively manage bonded stock and bank inventory to satisfy customer demand.
  • Understanding of capacity planning logic to maximize operational efficiency by constantly balancing supply with demand. Knowledge of MRP processes and have familiarity with MFGPRO planning logic as well as the ability to work with Siebel Customer 360.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of technical specifications, products performance requirements, manufacturing processes, and end user expectations.
  • Ability to achieve continuous improvement by analyzing a product’s value stream activity relative to parameters and optimize throughput, flexibility, and on-time delivery as well as actively working on cost out activities.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization (customers, marketing, engineering, quality, and manufacturing).
  • Desire to work in a collaborative environment with strong ability to take action and get results.
  • Ability to quickly analyze, identify and implement opportunities and corporate initiatives for improvement that have measurable dollar impact each year.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, coaching and consulting skills.           


Basic Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree Required .
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered with this position. Only candidates that currently reside within a 50 mile radius of Jackson, MS will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s degree
  • APICS certification
  • Previous managerial experience is preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of Aerospace industry, complex machined materials management, lean manufacturing, MRP/ERP, Aftermarket, and MFGPro.
  • Lean or Six Sigma Certification as well as FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification a definite plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience performing material planning in Supply Chain or Manufacturing functions.
  • Advanced Excel experience is preferred.
  • Microsoft Access experience.
  • ERP/MRP knowledge
