Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Plant Operator at its production facility in Granite City, IL.

The Granite City facility comprises of two air separation (ASU) plants supporting pipeline and merchant gas businesses. Liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon products are manufactured and delivered to a customer base in and around the St Louis metro area.

This position is responsible for the continuous monitoring of a two large Air Separation Units, an Argon Purification Unit, and a Nitrogen Liquefier. Some of the duties include the starting and stopping equipment, process optimization, tanker loading and unloading, routine maintenance and troubleshooting operating issues. This position is also involved in the site safety program and continuous improvement projects.

**The position requires rotating shift work.

**Military candidates and veterans are encouraged to apply! This position would be best suited for a Machinist Mate or Nuclear Trained individuals with specific focus on monitoring and maintaining propulsion systems, nuclear power or aircraft maintenance.

- Applicants must have a HS diploma/equivalency.
- A 2 year technical/business degree is preferred

- Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing/production, processing or chemical/ petrochemical environment.
- Cryogenic plant experience is a plus.
- A strong commitment to safety, working as a team and operational excellence
