JOB SUMMARY

HCA IT&S Platform Engineer II oversees the development and maintenance of asset and configuration management data and tools in support of Configuration Management Database (CMDB) activities including: configuration identification, control, and reporting. This position will work with IT and Business system owners to ensure that the services IT&S provides to the business are properly documented and maintained through the release lifecycle, comply with company standards and have correct logistical information for ownership, support and use. This position will use development skills to automate data collection and improve quality of CMDB data in support of improving IT service delivery.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
With manager and senior team members' oversight and guidance, the IT&S Platform Engineer II is responsible for:
  • Collecting and documenting application and infrastructure information for existing and new implementations
  • Interviewing subject matter experts in IT and the Business to collect configuration data
  • Identifying technical , business, and support owners for application and infrastructure components of a service model
  • Identifying opportunities for automation and support the implementation of automation
  • Identifying impact relationships and verifying parent-child cardinality for application system models
  • Creating reports showing the completeness and accuracy of asset and configuration data
Use coding or scripting skill to implement automated integrations of management tools and external data sources into the configuration management database

3 or more years

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree - Preferred


OTHER / SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must have the ability to work with large amounts of repetitive data and maintain attention to detail. This position will be required to evaluate the quality of data and identify exceptions using both manual review and tools.

Success Criteria: Detail oriented, able to look at large amounts of data and identify errors. Desire to understand how IT services are provided to customers. Passion and concern with improving the organization, inspired by healthcare. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to support others.
