The Portfolio Analytics and Planning Senior Manager will serve as a leader supporting Amgen's portfolio of variations. The position will help design, establish and build a high-performing team and capability that will support the end-to-end variation management process. Holistically, this group will be focused on robust project, portfolio, and process management for variations to capture and accelerate the value of change to our commercial products.
The scope of the variation management process directionally includes: business case approval for a change, variation portfolio prioritization, change control, supply and submission planning, content authoring, publishing, submission, and approval from global regulatory agencies.
Master list of variations and key project details
Resource capacity management model, which can be used to forecast and optimize workload across the variation lifecycle
Scenario analytics capability to identify and recommend optimized plan for executing against variation portfolio to maximize value drivers for patients, staff, and shareholders
Develop & track key portfolio metrics
Support prioritization decisions and governance process for the variation portfolio
Identify key capacity and resource constraints and escalate for resolution
Engage closely with Process Owners, Variation Leads, Functional, and Regional partners; collaborate to perform analysis, communicate and ensure alignment on priority decisions
Travel up to 10%.
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Operations, Regulatory, or Project Management experience OR
Master's degree and 4 years of Operations, Regulatory, or Project Management experience OR
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of Operations, Regulatory, or Project Management experience OR
Associates degree and 10 years of Operations, Regulatory, or Project Management experience OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Operations, Regulatory, or Project Management experience
10 + years biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience
Able to facilitate and influence senior clients and partners as well as manage workload to timelines
Familiarity with basic project management tools
Ability to negotiate a strategic position after taking feedback from multiple sources
Strong analytical skills and experience with resource and capacity management, portfolio planning
Conceptual problem solving/strategy skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage execution
Ability to lead cross-functional teams, consistently deliver on-time, and high-quality results.
Ability to operate in a matrixed or team environment with site, functional, and executive leadership
Comfortable in "start-up" environment of a new Amgen group

Experience driving decision making using DAI principles
Some experience with the "variation management" processes
