IBM Research in Yorktown Heights, NY seeks a postdoctoral researcher to model and design high speed electrical signaling channels in computer circuit boards and microprocessor module substrates.  We wish to analyze the performance limits of electrical signaling for future memory systems, processor-to-processor data buses and processor-to-network electrical channels.  The prospective candidate will work with IBM specialists in advanced circuit board materials, connectors, memory standards, optics and system architecture and will choose components, plan system wiring and determine the performance limits of electrical channels in future IBM systems.  Applicants should have an excellent background in electromagnetic simulation, electrical model generation, channel modeling, electrical coupling analysis, signal integrity modeling. noise analysis, will have  a good engineering understanding of transmission lines and should have experience in using electrical modeling tools such as HFSS, circuit simulation tools such as spice and channel modeling tools using AMI or other parametric models.
