The Postdoctoral Researcher position has opened in the SELEX group with emphasis on studies to optimize selection of aptamers specific for key targets including cell surface receptors/immune regulatory molecules.  In this position, the successful candidate will

  • Have the chance to conduct research in a cutting edge therapeutic platform.
  • In addition to furthering understanding of factors that drive the efficiency of SELEX.
  • Design/implementation of novel technologies you will learn to focus efforts to support the drive to potential therapeutic products.
  • Cross-species SELEX will be conducted in parallel to establish the concept of translatability.
  • Interaction with colleagues from diverse scientific backgrounds and training will build on your own breadth of knowledge and enhance communication skills.

  • This position requires a Ph.D. in biochemistry, Immunology or related field with experience in molecular biology.
  • Experience with cell-based in vitro assays is strongly desired.
  • The successful candidate should be able to work as a team member, be able to design and implement relevant studies independently, present and discuss findings in group setting including communication with scientists from a variety of disciplines.
  • Due to the unique nature of this group the candidate will have the opportunity to build molecular and cell biology skills such as: development of cell-based functional assays using primary cells and cell lines, development and optimization of binding affinity assays, in vitro transcription, PCR, and NGS sequencing.
  • Experience with SELEX, development and optimization of binding affinity assays, in vitro transcription, PCR, and NGS sequencing is beneficial but not required.
  • Previous experience with ELISA, MSD or other multiplex assay system, flow cytometry or other functional assay experience is beneficial but not required.
