Qualifications: Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
- Familiar with the location of job and how bill is to be paid
- Diagnose problem at job site and perform needed repairs.
- Must be able to lay out a job plan and organize the customer's repair.
- Determine if the customer's equipment is subject to warranty.
- Make repairs to customer's equipment on overtime, weekends, and holidays when needed.
- Complete work orders with all information and documents necessary to complete invoice and/or warranty claims.
- Service as the custodian of an assigned field service truck and associated company tools and equipment
- Must see the correct parts are charged to work order, unused parts are turned back in to the parts department, and warranty parts are tagged and placed in warranty bin.
- Perform repairs as necessary to power generation sets and automatic transfer switches.
- Successfully complete all required training courses from Cummins and improve upon mechanical skills through home study courses, service/parts topics, and other schools offered by the Company.
Physical Requirements (times are approximate)
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical school or community college graduates preferred.
- Knowledge of Cummins equipment.
- Must have a valid Texas or Oklahoma driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Possess knowledge of warranty and service programs on Cummins products.
- Must be self-motivated and possess strong interpersonal and customer relation skills; ability to make educated decisions.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform any repair without supervision.
- Must possess a working knowledge of the product and basic principles of electricity.
- Must have an internal drive for customer service and provide an elevated level of service for internal and external customers.
- Must comply with safety rules and regulations and apply them to daily work routines for personal safety and the safety of others.
Standing 7.5 hours per day • Pushing/Pulling 4.0 hours per day • Sitting 1.5 hours per day • Lifting 1.5 hours per day • Lifting up to a maximum of 80 pounds • Bending 3.0 hours per day • Driving 2.5 hours per day
All drivers operating a company vehicle must be at least 21 years old; if the truck is a commercial motor vehicle per FMCSA regulation, the driver is required to hold or able to obtain a valid Commercial Driver License (CDL*). Compensation and Benefits
