What You'll Do

• Develop and execute creative and strategic PR programs that generate awareness, preference and demand for our Global Partner Organization, Cisco partner programs, solutions sold through the channel, and strategic services offerings
• Develop and strengthen relationships with influential reporters and bloggers of key technology, business and channel outlets (print, broadcast, online and social media)
• Lead and manage PR aspects of product and program launches
• Develop and implement award, speaker's bureau (for select events) and bylined article programs
• Closely partner with social media, analyst relations and marketing colleagues to develop viral strategy and drive impactful, new social and online communications programs
• Partner with marketing team on driving the development and execution of a wide range of proactive campaigns, customer/partner wins and testimonials of our channel initiatives and services strategies
• Serve as an active adviser for Cisco executives and other decision-makers to define and communicate Cisco's role in driving value and awareness of Cisco's Partner Ecosystem and Services portfolio
• Maintain an understanding of Cisco's broader business and technology landscape, with a "finger on the pulse" of relevant issues and trends that impact the company's business and reputation
• Manage PR program of Cisco's annual Partner Summit event
• Manage PR agency resources and associated budget

Who You'll Work With

Cisco Public Relations is a group of talented professionals with extensive media relationships and knowledge, who is responsible for messaging and positioning of all publicly released Cisco news. Our role is to protect and maintain Cisco's reputation, and to showcase Cisco to our customers and the general public via well placed media stories. Cisco PR focuses on building and maintaining relationships with press, pro-actively securing media coverage for, and handling reactive press calls. The public relations teams work closely with sales, marketing, and other functions within Cisco to develop the right PR strategy regarding the company's business and technology initiatives.

Who You Are

• BA/BS degree and a minimum of 4-6 years of related experience in public relations/corporate communications
• Passion for media relations ─ a true media enthusiast who enjoys pitching and working closely with media and influencers
• Demonstrated success in media relations with channel, technology, business, broadcast and social media outlets; knowledge of channel and go-to-market strategies and programs preferred
• A true team player who values working in a collaborative environment
• Tangible and current relationships with relevant trade and business media and reporters
• Solid interpersonal, relationship-building, and communications skills
• Excellent writing skills, with the demonstrated ability to draft high-quality news releases, blogs, proactive pitches, FAQs, message tracks and related documents
• Adept at leveraging social media channels and tools to support communications objectives
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and balance priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent time management, organizational, and project management skills
• Strong Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
