Principal Cloud Planner - Datacenter Group
Join the Cloud Segment Planning team in the Datacenter Strategic Planning DSP organization in the Datacenter Group. The cloud strategic planner will work closely with the Cloud Products Group CPG and public cloud service providers to identify requirements and define Intel's datacenter product roadmap that meets the customer needs and drives business growth. You are our one voice from specific customers and will have ownership as the voice of the customer. You will engage directly with the world's leading cloud service providers to understand their needs, align with them on Intel's product roadmap, and define new value-add technologies. You will translate their needs into product requirements and collaborate with product planners to drive them into Intel's CPU, chipset, network silicon, storage and software products. You will need to be able to synthesize a tremendous amount of information from brilliant people, prioritize their requests, connect requirements to workloads and opportunities, model financial scenarios, evaluate opportunities relative to DCG objectives and ensure recommendations are correctly integrated with product, business and engineering. The ideal candidate will need technical, product, and datacenter experience to speak with sophisticated customers about DCG's entire product portfolio. You will need the business acumen to build relationships with customers and perform analyses. Influencing skills are critical for success in this position as well as good written and verbal communication, analytical problem solving, strategic planning experience. Skills in networking and influencing at the Intel executive office required. The candidate will be required to change the roadmap to be optimized for the cloud customers, align with business goals, spot emerging cloud trends and workloads, drive opportunity analysis and either develop the concept or successfully hand off to a domain expert. As the position evolves and new cloud requirements emerge, this planner may also plan specific IP blocks, custom or semi-custom DCG products for specific customers or workloads.
Minimum Qualifications -Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science additionally, preferably a Master's in EE or CS, or MBA.-10 years of experience in architecture, design, and/or product management of datacenter products and solutions or 10 years of experience defining business strategies and technical product requirements with successful execution in data center with significant public cloud expertise.Desired Skills: - Self-starter who can identify new business opportunities based on end-user needs, translate the needs into technical product requirements, and prioritize investments.- Experience in IAAS/SAAS product management and solutions- Technical knowledge of cloud implementations for IAAS/SAAS hardware, software and services- Experience with a variety of technologies such as CPU and servers, datacenter infrastructure, Ethernet, memory, storage, and networking - Success in leading complex, cross-organization teams to deliver business results.- Excellent customer communication and collaboration skills particularly to executive office - Mix of creativity and analytical business skills
