Department and Team Description
The Oracle Cloud Business Group develops global go-to-market strategy, messaging, and materials, as well as evangelizes Oracle's solutions. The OCBG works across groups like product development, corporate marketing, sales, channels and the user communities, to create consistent and compelling messaging. The OCBG also develops detailed plans that involve the determination of the target markets for applications and how best to target them. A structured approach to selling is then created that empowers all the global sales teams to execute and be successful.

This senior member of the team will be the lead for the Oracle Manufacturing and Maintenance Cloud solutions that interconnect with Oracle EBS and other ERP apps in the cloud. Oracle has a broad range of market leading supply chain solutions that are interconnected and deployed in the cloud. This area is mission critical to customers and Oracle continues to invest heavily to provide the best and most modern solutions.

Position Description
Director (Senior Director), Marketing - Cloud SCM
Analysis of the market, go-to-market plan development, message creation and content creation are essential in this position. So, proof of strategic analytic skills, excellent communication, presentation creation and writing skills will be necessary. The ability and desire to work effectively in a global, matrixed organization, persuading people with your passion is essential.
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop clear and differentiated messages and value proposition
  • Create global go-to-market plans across multiple teams and regions
  • Work with Sales and Partners to drive market adoption
  • Direct marketing launch activities for upcoming releases, including designing new collateral, marshalling resources and providing leadership
  • Build clear and differentiated value propositions for customer segments
  • Support strategic sales engagements
  • Raise product awareness through various community networks
  • Support global sales teams with new products and unique situations
  • Analyze competitive products as well as market trends and technologies
  • Train sales teams on unique messaging and solution delivery options
Desired Industry Background:

Experience should include a strong supply chain background. Familiarity with cloud deployments, big data, the internet of things, and other modern trends is essential to success. Qualified applicants will also have a strong knowledge of ERP systems and applicable experience.

Critical Skills Needed for the Position:
  • Messaging and Positioning Skills: Create modern, unique, and differentiated messaging for your product area. Communicate that messaging to all market channels including, sales training, webinars, social media, and briefings.
  • Powerful Writing: As a team member, you will be asked to create select, high-impact communications and collateral for the field. These include executive blogs, high-level web pages and brochures, as well as presentations. Strong writing skills, with an emphasis on telling a clear story, are a must. You'll need to be experienced and gifted in succinctly describing the business value of products and solutions.
  • Presentation Skills: In this role, you will present in front of both large and small groups. You should be accomplished and comfortable as a speaker. You should be able to demonstrate aptitude for leading an interactive working group, as well as delivering scripted presentations.
  • Sales/ Sales Training Skills: You will develop and deliver a variety of sales tools. In some cases, you will develop the messaging and the collateral will be created by others. In other cases, you will turn the message into collateral. Therefore, experience in sales, developing collateral, or sales training is desirable.
  • Cross-Functional Management and Influencing Skills: As the interface point between Sales, Product Strategy, Product Management, Corporate Marketing, and Field Marketing. the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to get people in other functions to make timely contributions.
  • Research Skills: You will often need to find facts on your product, industry, or customer base and will need to leverage internal and external sources for this purpose.
  • Multi-Tasking and Organization Skills: Because you'll be responsible for shaping messaging for many different industries and products, you will have many activities going on simultaneously. The ability to be organized and keep diverse activities moving forward is essential.
  • Interpersonal Skills: One of the unique aspects of this role is that you will interface with all kinds of people at many different levels. As such, you'll need superior interpersonal skills to be successful.
  • Computer Skills: In this role, you'll be primarily using PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook. You should be proficient with each of these applications. Skill in graphics or web design is a significant plus.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Years of Experience: 15 years of supply chain and/or ERP experience, ideally to include marketing, selling, development, and/or management of Supply Chain and ERP related solutions.
  • Education: B.S. / B.A. and MBA preferred. Life experiences that have provided similar grounding in marketing are also appropriate.
Travel Component: Med (20 - 40%)

Drive the implementation of programs in support of the marketing strategy, business plans, and forecasts for assigned product lines. Maintains current status of customer specifications for existing and future products. Identify, evaluate, and recommend marketing opportunities in support of product line objectives. Drive product functionality delivering high quality product documentation. Lead products through scheduled release assisting others to manage commitments and resources. Measure and report progress and review deliverables.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Demonstrated product/project management experience. Ability to work with Executives. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Demonstrated product/project management experience. Creative, energetic, and enthusiastic. Team player. Experience using or implementing Oracle, SAP, or Peoplesoft applications. Basic HTML and web technology skills a plus. 8 years technology/industry experience and BA/BS/MBA degree.
