We are looking for a bright, curious and driven thought leader for the role of a Principal Engineer focused on delivery of the latest cloud native relational and non-relational operational data platforms.This role provides engineering leadership to create and enhance operational data platforms to complement our cloud-native application systems, as well as senior level technical consulting to peer data engineers and application developers during design and development of highly complex and critical data projects.This is a DevOps position, responsible for the full-stack engineering, development and support for products that support our cloud-native data capabilities. While focused on the data systems, involvement with all aspects of our cloud native ecosystems will be encouraged.Primary Responsibilities
  • DevOps (engineering, development, integration, automation & support) for next-gen, cloud-native relational operational data systems, (eg. Cassandra, RDS/*, MongoDB, etc) in on-prem and public cloud deployment flavors
  • Principal technologist role responsible for both technology evolution and mentoring junior engineers
  • Developing data governance & compliance frameworks and tools to be consumed as a Service by application developers
  • Assisting application development teams during application design and development for highly complex and critical data projects
  • Leveraging DevOps techniques and practices like Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Test Automation, Build Automation and Test Driven Development to enable the rapid delivery of capabilities to our users
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers and emerging data trendsPrimary Skills / Competencies

  • Hands on experience leading feature delivery through Agile methodologies
  • Demonstrated engagement with, and contributions to, internal and external user communities
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and technologies quickly; rapidly iterating those concepts/ideas through prototyping, and driving adoption through delivery of features most relevant to our users
  • Excellent leadership, organization and communication skills - ability to message the right detail to the right audience
  • Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to require standards and processes

5+ years working in a technology - application development environment3+ years working in infrastructure3+ years working in Systems/ArchitectureBachelor's Degree in CIS, Computer and Information Science or like field or equivalent work exeperience
