Job Summary:
The Principal Engineer III- OSP is responsible for creating technology roadmaps that maintain and enhance the company's Outside Plant Engineering and Architecture delivery systems. Thorough knowledge and understanding of HFC Networks, FTTx architectures, Fiber Optic Technology, RF Signals, Powering Systems, DOCSIS, Network Design, and RF Amplification theory. Works closely with Corporate Technical Operations team on system design and hardware configuration. Recognized as the technical and design expert. Collaborates with the teams and advises team leaders. Provide Engineering expertise for all new OSP Architectures, as well as explanation of existing systems by focusing on supporting the operations teams with integration, operational readiness and successful implementation. This includes developing, testing, and ensuring workflows and policies are being followed and identifying any gaps that may impact deployments.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Assigned the most complex and critical projects that involve several technical systems and constituents.

Designs, implements, monitors, enhances and troubleshoots systems in assigned areas.

Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.

Tests and reviews system designs.

Provides a high level of Engineering Technical support and guidance to regional personnel and ensure all technical integration, changes, standards and documentation are met.

Mentors and guides the work of senior technical staff.

Reviews work plans and designs and advises on improvements.

Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.

Knows, understands and follows company policy.

Performs other duties as requested by manager.

Required Qualifications:
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner.
Advanced knowledge of HFC and next generation HFC architectures.
Advanced knowledge of construction practices.
Advanced knowledge of HFC design and mapping systems
Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly
Ability to use personal computer and software applications
Ability to serve as a visionary and think strategically
Ability to foster teamwork and build a strong culture of collaboration.
Master expert knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Transport technologies and system designs.
Master expert knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology
Master expert knowledge of network design software, such as Visio, Bentley, AutoCAD, etc.
Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly

Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or related work experience
