The Federation Architect role is the “Pursuit & Capture” team’s enterprise IT architect and technical expert representing the product solutions from EMC’s Federation of companies and business units and is focused on providing technical and business consultative guidance to client C-Level, Executives and Business Unit leaders before, during and after any major Federation-led transformational engagements. Targeted customer bases will involve the largest and most strategic customers of EMC Federation businesses.
During a Federation-led sales effort the Federation Architect is aligned to the “Pursuit & Capture” team’s “Partner of IT Transformation”, acting as the technical architect and integration expert for our clients and for other Federation sales and services teams involved in a transformational engagement. Our Federation solutions are comprised of Federation Enterprise Hybrid Cloud (FEHC), Federation Business Data Lake (FBDL), Federation End User Computing (FEUC), vCloud Air and Virtustream, among other Federation -family technology solutions.
+ Act as an evangelist for the Federation’s transformational capabilities, capture, understand and analyze specific customer business and technical issues and demands and translate them into architecture delivered by our Federation solutions.
+ Work collaboratively across customer and the Federation businesses. Work with the customer's internal change management systems and architectural standards groups. Proactively alerts the aligned “Partner of IT Transformation” of potential problems based upon knowledge of a proposed product solutions and the customer environment.
+ Provide technical leadership across the Federation and partner teams, assuring quality, maximizing team output, across geographically dispersed teams with ability to maintain multiple streams of effort.
+ Develop, maintain and cultivate strong customer relationships at all levels, with special emphasis for upper management and executive levels.
+ Prepare technical architecture with any required related technical documents and work with the “Partner of IT Transformation” and the “Program Director” to develop an implementation plan, deliverables and schedule estimates.
+ Act as lead technical subject matter expert during pre-sales life cycle - qualification, pitch preparation and delivery, development of customer vision, solution proposal. Proactively identify and communicate post-sale opportunities to account teams.
+ Establish a strategic architecture and vision using the Federation solutions, with an optimized approach to maximize chances of delivery success to maintain our Federation’s industry leading position for customer satisfaction.
**EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS**
This position requires an enterprise technologist who has a passion for applying proven and next-generation infrastructure solutions to solving the most comprehensive business challenges. Having a passion for learning and incorporating cutting edge solutions, we seek a hands-on technologist with a track record of outstanding strategic and tactical pre-sales architecture experience in the enterprise. Thriving in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, _you must also have the following experience:_
+ In-depth technical pre-sales and architecture experience for large enterprises, working with global clients on multi-year IT transformational engagements that scale over $25M+ in investment value.
+ Comprehensive technical expertise in datacenter technologies from the Application to the Infrastructure levels. Industry vertical expertise within Life Sciences, Energy, Service Providers and Financial Services sectors is highly regarded.
+ Experience working directly CIO’s and VP’s of IT in orchestrating a wide variety of technical resources to collaborate and drive large enterprise grade, technically comprehensive customer projects within global accounts.
+ Previous experience leading enterprise responses to disruptive forces by identifying and analyzing the execution of change toward desired business vision and outcomes.
