As Microsoft’s cloud platform, Microsoft Azure is experiencing explosive growth, and the Microsoft Azure OS Hardware team is delivering the platform that will drive that growth.
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated architect to drive the adoption of new hardware technologies into the Microsoft Azure platform. The ideal candidate will have a passion for new technology, including motherboard design, processor and memory technologies, and power and thermal trade-offs. You will learn about the challenges that affect operations at a global scale, help design the next generation Microsoft Azure hardware platforms, and lead the industry to design technologies focused on our goals. You will also learn what it takes to support new business models, applications, and operating models as we bring new customers and partners onto the Microsoft Azure system.
• Extensive knowledge of server architecture
• Broad, high-level understanding of system design
• Experience working with OEMs and ODMs to drive platform requirements
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiating skills
• Proven track record of developing partnerships across companies
• Demonstrated track-record of self-directed execution
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field
• Experience directing hardware programs a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Azure a plus
• 9+ years of development experience

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
