The successful candidate for this role will possess the experience and knowledge required to lead the network program for RSA SaaS and develop the long term strategy to meet industry best-practices. The candidate will provide technical thought leadership, guidance and counsel to the Network Operations team, and key members of the SaaS Operations leadership team.  By working closely with technical and customer-facing groups, this individual will be key in building relationships and goodwill across the company, customer, and SaaS-ecosystem.

As the Senior SaaS and Cloud Network Engineer you will:
  • Guide the global networking team towards the next evolution of excellence for our mission critical 24x7 customer facing solutions
  • Architect, implement, support and lead processes and technologies defining the SaaS Operations global network services
  • Design and enhance fully redundant network architecture for current and future business needs, in traditional data centers and private/public cloud environments
  • Develop, improve, and implement best of breed network designs, policies, and standards of practice
Guide the SaaS Operations global network team  
  • Provide planning, day to day operations, development and implementation of strategic networking projects
  • Work with management in ensuring the network team meets individual deliverables and milestones in accordance to project dates and timelines
  • As needed, communicate complex networking, and technical topics to a wide variety of audiences including colleagues, customers and senior management
Build a best-of-breed network monitoring practice
  • Enhance network logging and monitoring capabilities to actively and proactively detect error conditions and faults and pinpoint performance issues
  • Collaborate and lead pragmatic network remediation work between cross functional teams i.e. complete Root Cause Analysis and assess corrective recommendations
  • Assess and enhance the effectiveness of network toolsets and processes with the goal to improve overall service levels
Build a best-of-breed network security practice
  • Design and build secure network including security devices and toolsets to support Security Operations teams
  • Work closely with security and Global Risk & Compliance teams ensuring expected controls are effectively meeting current and future needs (PCI, VbV, SOC2, ISO 27002)
  • Participate in internal and external network security assessments and be able to explain network operational controls
Support the business with design and communication excellence
  • Assist senior management with service planning, delivery, reporting and risk analysis
  • Conduct briefings with internal and external customers in role as subject matter expert, when required
  • Work proactively to enable integration of new business and service lines

  • You have a proven track-record building, supporting and maintaining 24x7x365 SaaS regulated customer-facing networks
  • You have a network skillset including but not limited to routing and switching, LAN/WAN technologies, BGP, firewalls, load balancers, MPLS, VPN, TLS certificates
  • You have the ability to troubleshoot complicated technical issues related to customer-facing network incidents (e.g. intermittent application latency over Internet / WAN / LAN) in a global infrastructure
  • You have experience in virtualized systems/appliances and virtualized networking devices
  • You have experience with both traditional datacenters and cloud computing architectures including AWS, Azure
  • You have experience with DDOS mitigation solutions (Akamai preferred) and WAF
  • You have practical implementation of SDN technologies to maximize redundancy and performance
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science,  or other related field or relevant work experience
  • You have 7+ years' experience leading 24x7 customer-facing networks (focus on availability and redundancy)
  • You have experience interacting with engineering and product teams, customers, internal and external auditors
  • You have the ability and desire to mentor team members
  • You are able to influence others to achieve results
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills - written and verbal
  • You readily share information with others, actively seeks customer input, takes direct responsibility for complex customer situations
  • You contribute to process improvements, identify inefficiencies, and develops policies and procedures
  • You stay abreast of current and emerging technologies, serves as technology consultant, makes recommendations based on in-depth knowledge and research
  • You can work on unusually complex problems and provides solutions, which are highly innovative
  • You have a CCIE, or equivalent active certification
