Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure Solutions are rapidly becoming the leader in both On-premises and Public Cloud solutions. To continue this growth of Oracle's Cloud leadership, we are looking for a senior level Sales Consultant that is a thought leader and innovator in this new age of Converged, Public and Private Cloud Computing. This individual will become a deep product expert with Oracle's latest Cloud and Infrastructure offerings, and work with sales representatives to build custom strategies and solutions that address the customer's areas of need in new and existing accounts. This role will support the largest, most complex customers that Oracle works with and will require effective and dynamic communication with all levels (from technical stakeholders to executives) of a typical Enterprise organization. This Sales Consultant will be comfortable working with deals at all stages of the deal lifecycle, from hypothesis, discovery, solution design, through validation and successful sale.

Brief Overview

Provides thought leadership and deep product knowledge in applying Oracle's Cloud and Engineered Systems capabilities to a prospective customer's business needs. Be able to help develop and execute upon sales strategy for selling large and complex deals into enterprise level customers. Possess personal drive to configure and innovate upon core product demonstrations transforming customer demos into dynamic selling events.

Position Details

As a senior technical Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for providing presales/technical leadership to Oracle's largest and most influential customers and deals. You will be customer focused, and comport yourself to delivering the highest customer satisfaction. You are highly driven and think outside the box as you innovate your product's solution to differentiate from other vendors in the marketplace. You are comfortable in a dynamic, start-up like environment, and are a self-starter that requires minimal supervision on a daily basis. You are comfortable acting as a trusted technical advisor to an enterprise sized customer, and able to articulate complex topics and make them consumable no matter whom the audience is. You are also biased to making those around you successful and are comfortable working as a team player, and a mentor to less tenured people in the organization. Finally, you are a masterful communicator, and are able to present and articulate not only a technical solution, but also the unique value that it brings to the individual customer.

To be successful in the role, ideal candidates will have:

• Minimum of 3 years of technical pre-sales experience with a history of top revenue attainment
• 1-3 years of Private or Public Cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) experience is preferred
• 2-3 years of Converged Infrastructure or Private Cloud architecture/ implementation/consulting/project management experience is preferred
• Knowledge or hands-on experience with Oracle's Engineered Systems (Exadata, SuperCluster, Private Cloud Appliance, Big Data Appliance, Exalytics, Oracle Cloud Machine) is an asset
• 3-5 years of relevant enterprise software application experience including database, middleware, applications (ERP, SCM, CRM, HCM, etc.) and knowledge of related management tools (understanding how these application environments are deployed and managed is a key asset)
• Knowledge of Big Data Solutions (Hadoop, NoSQL, ETL, Datawarehouse, BI, Analytics, Cloudera, Horton Works, etc.) is a strong asset
• Knowledge of Oracle infrastructure products (Engineered System, Servers, Storage, Networking) and Cloud offerings is an asset
• Knowledge or practical experience with competitive Cloud and Infrastructure offerings from Amazon, Google, Microsoft, IBM, HP, EMC, VMware is very beneficial
• Experience with Enterprise level backup/recovery, high availability, disaster recovery and business continuance solutions is essential
• Demonstrated knowledge of system and application requirements gathering, design, architecture, sizing and capacity planning
• Ability to discuss tradeoffs with on-premise and cloud-based approaches, understand data transmission requirements, and suggest viable approaches for transition to cloud
• Ability to communicate with executives, lines of business, and technical audiences
• Experience with building, and delivering complex product presentations and demonstrations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to solve complex technical problems in complex environments
• Experience working in start-up like environments is preferred
• Strong selling and persuasion skills
• Self-motivated, high energy and personal drive
• Ability to travel as needed (30% Travel)
• BSc degree or equivalent; MSc is an asset

Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
