Principal Software Engineer

The Office developer platform is the foundation for business and personal productivity. This platform expands Office’s diverse set of client applications – spanning the Web, desktop and mobile devices. We are taking the next generation Office platform to the broadest and most demanding groups of developers that Microsoft serves.

We’re looking for an engineer like you to join the Office Platform Experience group. As part of the team you will be responsible for large impactful areas such as an API used by millions of developers worldwide. You will drive the definition, policies and customer experiences for our fast-growing API surface and the platforms that it exposes. You will also evangelize, and cross-group collaborate, the platform across Microsoft and throughout our highly diverse developer audience.

Office is one of the most used and most beloved software suites in the world. Office 365 is a productivity powerhouse! Being able to innovate on, and expand, these worlds has created an ecosystem for productivity and invention.

Basic Qualifications:
•10+ years of software and/or services development and product delivery experience
•Minimum BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
•8+ years in multiple modern programming languages such as C#, Java, C/C++, JavaScript, or TypeScript

Additional and/or Preferred Qualifications
•Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
•Extraordinary architectural, design, debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills
•The ability to quickly learn new technologies and efficiently collaborate with partners to deliver excellent results.
•Experience in API Development for client or services
•Familiarity with OSS technologies like ReactJS, React Native, or Redux
