Our partners are building amazing applications and we are looking for a software engineer with deep industry experience and developer skills to join the Commercial Software Engineering (CSE) Team with the objective to drive adoption and development of industry leading applications and services across devices.
The candidate will need to demonstrate deep technical knowledge and the development expertise necessary to develop the most leading-edge applications and solutions in partnership with top-tier software vendors. The candidate will have the executive presence, technical expertise, and problem solving skills to build strong, influential relationships with partners by helping them solve their most complex technical problems. As part of the role, the candidate will use their industry experience to contribute to various engineering groups, providing partner feedback and influencing the roadmap for future product releases. The candidate will have a deep understanding of internal and external environments to anticipate and pursue opportunities with significant business impact. The candidate will contribute to key OSS and internal frameworks that accelerate partner solutions. Based on their deep expertise developing software, the candidate will present at top industry events and be sought after as an expert in their field.
This candidate will be responsible for:
Developing and driving new ways of thinking across groups within the division to improve quality, engineering productivity, and responsiveness to feedback and changing priorities Solving complex technical problems, integrating relevant variables, and holding self and other leaders accountable for solutions
Leading teams to develop commercially available solutions using OSS, Windows, Azure, Bing, and Office technologies with top engineers from across Microsoft and partner with engineering teams Participating as a leading contributor in key OSS and internal frameworks
Technical subject matter expertise in OSS and Microsoft technologies to build code and other technical content to support developer events, architecture design sessions, and resolve issues
Providing subject matter expertise and leadership to Microsoft teams worldwide Working across Microsoft teams to influence the future product roadmap
The ideal candidate will have:
Demonstrated deep technical developer capabilities in OSS and/or Microsoft technologies
World-class expertise in cloud computing and mobile technologies, and a drive to learn continuously
Strong communication and presentation skills
A broad functional knowledge base to solve complex customer problems
A sense of commitment to end-to-end product or service quality, completeness and the resulting user experience for the life of products and services
Strong knowledge of application development practices and a track record of working closely with a large development team Experience leveraging diverse perspectives, technologies, and organizations to pro-actively respond to customer needs in an integrated and aligned manner
Minimum of 15 years of experience in software development BS/BA degree, Masters in Computer Science preferred
