A key driver of NetSuite's success in meeting the needs of our broad customer base is the SuiteCloud Platform, a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) for customizing and extending NetSuite's core capabilities. Customers build on the platform directly or install SuiteApps built on the platform by independent solution vendors. We're looking for ambitious and creative Principal Software Developers with a track record for innovation in cloud-based applications and/or platforms to join NetSuite's platform team in delivering the cloud's leading software development lifecycle framework.
You will share responsibility in designing and implementing a new framework for developing SuiteApps on NetSuite's platform as well as understanding and contributing enhancements to the existing, widely used framework. As a Senior Software Engineer you will be expected to communicate clearly, work productively with minimal supervision, think creatively and independently, and collaborate with team members in diverse functions (engineers, product managers, technical writers). You will participate in hiring and assessing new talent; you will also play an active role in defining the direction of the product.
Intimate, working understanding of modern web applications from database to user interface is relevant for this role. A high-level of proficiency in SQL, Object Oriented languages as well as experience with database driven web applications is preferred as well as proficiency in design patterns and test driven development. The ideal candidate has relevant experience building cloud-based platforms that enable application design, development, testing, and distribution. Excellent communication skills in technical and non-technical contexts and situations are preferred. Relevant experience in working towards deadlines in a rapid development cycle and the ability to prioritize competing demands is desirable. - BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- 5 years of web and backend software development experience
- 5 years of Java experience
- Strong Java design and development experience with good instincts for clean and testable code
- SQL Experience, including schema design and development of efficient queries and PL/SQL
- A solid understanding of metadata design and its use in the architecture of enterprise applications
- Superb written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of Design Patterns, Object Oriented Programming, TDD and SOLID principles
- Agile SCRUM experience
