The Principal Solution Lead performs a critical role in the strategic transformation of global data management, for both operational and analytical purposes, in alignment with MetLife’s Enterprise Data Management Strategy – by directly managing the evaluation and selection of existing (or creation of new) best practices, design patterns, and frameworks suitable to successfully deliver large and/or complex programs and projects for the Fortune 50.


The Principal Solution Lead will engage participants, influence approach, generate artifacts, solicit feedback, communicate and drive collaboration with key stakeholders and senior business leaders across the Strategy, Delivery, Enterprise Architecture and other organizations across MetLife’s Global Technology and Operations (GTO) and Lines of Business (LOBs). 



  • Directs the selection or creation of solutions for business initiatives, aligning with the Enterprise Data Management Strategy, with focus on driving early and continuous value.    
  • Recognize and understand business needs, mission, challenges, and processes.
  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates solutions with key partners and stakeholders (business and development teams), across strategic components and capabilities.
  • Solicits feedback from business and technical stakeholders through presentations and review/vetting sessions.
  • Adheres to MetLife standard practices in developing solutions.
  • Challenges, influences, and continuously improves processes and artifacts to expedite and raise level of quality.



  • Assertive self-starter, with the ability to lead and/or operate effectively in a matrix environment with diverse teams and manage multiple tasks under strict time constraints.
  • Strong analytical, organization, and planning skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Sound judgment, professionalism and discretion due to level and confidential nature of information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build network of positive relationships and partnerships across functions, and work with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Avidly and continuously aware of current and emerging data technology.  Sound knowledge of common multi-tier application architectures and solutions, with ability to convey complex IT concepts in a simple and digestible manner.
  • 10+ years of experience with undergraduate degree (required).  MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Presentation/collaboration/artifact tools experience – SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
  • Proficiency with Lean or Six Sigma process improvement preferred.
  • Knowledge of MetLife systems and data preferred.
