Principal Software Engineer(s)
Worksite: Hopkinton, MA, and assigned to various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
Job Duties: Develop software solutions for external clients based on detailed specifications from internal technology/systems consultants. Responsible for the design, development, testing, documentation and analysis of modules or features of new or upgraded software systems and products. Develop and execute implementations according to project plans and priorities. Plan, design, develop and test software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products. Provide technical expertise in developing solutions to complex software engineering problems. Interface with senior management to provide and obtain information and gain consensus regarding project direction. Propose design changes/suggestions to processes and products to help determine the objectives of an assignment. Write functional detailed design specifications, requirement documents and system level test plans. Build use cases and product requirements based on customer requests; roadmap them; and work with the Engineering team to deliver those requirements to the customer per the roadmap. May be assigned to various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
Job Requirements: Master’s degree in Comp. Sci., Engin.(any), Business, Math, Physics, or related technical field. 24 months experience in job offered or computer-related occupation. Education or experience must include: 1) TCP/IP networking; 2) Java and Python programming; 3) Flash based storage system technologies (deduplication, Non-volatile memory); 4) Agile software development methodology; 5) File system technologies (caching, pre-fetching, hard disk internals); 6) SAN protocols; 7) NAS based Network File Systems (distributed systems, File systems); 8) Virtualization technologies operating systems, distributed systems); and 9) Unix/Linux internals. Experience may be gained concurrently. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
