The successful candidate for this role will possess the experience and knowledge required to lead the infrastructure program for RSA SaaS and develop the long term strategy to meet industry best-practices. The candidate will provide technical thought leadership, guidance and counsel to the SaaS Technical Operations team, and key members of the SaaS Operations leadership team.  By working closely with technical and customer-facing groups, this individual will be key in building relationships and goodwill across the company, customer, and SaaS-ecosystem.

As the Senior Systems Administrator (Private/Public Cloud) you will:
  • Guide the global systems team towards the next evolution of excellence for our mission critical 24x7 customer facing solutions
  • Architect, implement, support and lead processes and technologies defining the SaaS Operations global systems services
  • Design and enhance fully redundant system architectures for current and future business needs, in traditional data centers and private/public cloud environments
  • Evolve standardized build, patch and deployment toolsets
  • Develop, improve, and implement best of breed designs, policies, and standards of practice
Guide the SaaS Operations global systems team
  • Provide planning, day to day operations, development and implementation of strategic systems and infrastructure projects
  • Work with management in ensuring the systems team meets individual deliverables and milestones in accordance to project dates and timelines
  • As needed, communicate complex networking, and technical topics to a wide variety of audiences including colleagues, customers and senior management
Build best-of-breed systems monitoring practice
  • Enhance troubleshooting and forensic capabilities including historical performance analysis and trending
  • Enhance logging and monitoring capabilities to actively and proactively detect error conditions and faults and pinpoint performance issues
  • Collaborate and lead pragmatic network remediation work between cross functional teams i.e. complete Root Cause Analysis and assess corrective recommendations
  • Assess and enhance the effectiveness of network toolsets and processes with the goal to improve overall service levels
  • Enhance data backup and recovery processes
Build best-of-breed systems security practice
  • Ensure all systems are "hardened" to required security standards
  • Design and build secure network including security devices and toolsets to support Security Operations teams
  • Work closely with security and Global Risk & Compliance teams ensuring expected controls are effectively meeting current and future needs (PCI, VbV, SOC2, ISO 27002)
  • Participate in internal and external network security assessments and be able to explain network operational controls
Support the business with design and communication excellence
  • Assist senior management with service planning, delivery, reporting and risk analysis
  • Conduct briefings with internal and external customers in role as subject matter expert, when required
  • Work proactively to enable integration of new business and service lines

  • You are an expert at and know your away around both Linux (Redhat) and Windows equally
  • You know have worked with VMWare ESX virtualization technologies
  • You have experience with storage arrays (EMC preferred), SAN technologies, replication and backup solutions
  • You have experience with hybrid cloud environments including common public clouds (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • You have implemented and used server build automation tools
  • You have implemented monitoring, alerting and proactive processes for a high awareness of systems performance and availability
  • You have experience with virtual desktop infrastructures
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science,  or other related field or relevant work experience
  • You have 7+ years' experience leading 24x7 customer-facing systems (focus on availability and redundancy)
  • You have experience supporting multi-tier application environments and leading engineering, database, application and networking teams to diagnose complex problems
  • You have the ability to lead troubleshooting of complicated technical issues related to customer-facing incidents (e.g. intermittent application latency)
  • You have experience interacting with engineering and product teams, customers, internal and external auditors
  • You have the ability and desire to mentor team members
  • You are able to influence others to achieve results
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills - written and verbal
  • You readily share information with others, actively seeks customer input, takes direct responsibility for complex customer situations
  • You contribute to process improvements, identify inefficiencies, and develops policies and procedures
  • You stay abreast of current and emerging technologies, serves as technology consultant, makes recommendations based on in-depth knowledge and research
  • You can work on unusually complex problems and provides solutions, which are highly innovative
  • You have VCDX, RHCA, MCSE or equivalent active certification
