The Cloud for Industry Product Management team is looking for a User Experience Designer with a strong background in both UX and Design to lead improvements to our tools and applications. As a member of the Product Management team, this individual will have the ability to define and drive core concepts related to usability and user experience, while defining and owning best practices, new initiatives and key areas of focus related to these within the organization.
This role requires strong visual and interaction design skills as well as ability to work on complex UX challenges. This includes creating and implementing visual vocabularies, data visualizations, and interaction workflows. This role will also require the ability to prioritize and assess requests and opportunities as well as define and maintain a roadmap around usability and design initiatives.
Refine user scenarios and user stories working with Product Managers
Facilitate cross-functional design focused collaboration
Create polished mockups and schemas to communicate detailed visual designs
Refine designs with wireframes and build basic prototypes when needed
Ability to present and speak to usability and design impact, enhancements and value
Validate product specifics with users
Make solid prioritizations for your work to meet project objectives
5 years' experience working on UX for complex web applications / SaaS products (not just web sites)
Commitment to working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Excellence in visual design and data/architecture visualizations
Proficiency in interaction design and information architecture
Capability in articulating design rationales and facilitating productive discussions
Skill both in blank-slate initiatives, and in projects for established products
Ability to break down goals and objectives into a reliable work plan
Independent initiative within shared team goals
Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.
As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
