Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
Identify inefficiencies and waste in production lines; propose changes to management. Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities. Administrates ISO 9001 Quality System acting as Management Representative for the location. Other duties may be assigned.
Directly supervises several employees in the quality control area. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, (in cooperation with Human Resources) and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing/Industrial engineering or related degree, or equivalent from a four- year college; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
