Workday is seeking Procurement Intern who is excited to make an impact within a growing organization. ​The ideal candidate is detail oriented, a self-starter, and great communicator. This individual must also enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, while collaborating with people who have a diverse skill set.​

The procurement functions are organized around 6 category areas that drive spend activity for Real Estate & Workplace, Finance, People & Purpose, Marketing, Professional Services, and Travel & Events. The strategic sourcing team develops and drives regional and global strategies to improve Workday's position in the market, negotiates savings, and clearly understands the requirements of the businesses they support.

The Procurement Intern will provide research and analytical support across the categories described above.  This role will be responsible for conducting sourcing activities as required to support the initiatives of the Procurement team.

Responsibilities
•   Provide input and data analysis in support of category efforts
•   Engage with the internal businesses to gather required data for sourcing projects or other initiatives
•   Work on and manage sourcing & travel projects as requested
•   Gather spend data and business requirements from internal customers and validate for completeness
•   Facilitate integration of select supplier information into relevant information systems
•   Ensure functionality and accuracy of data content in the systems
•   Support Procurement team to develop and execute category strategies
•   Support Contract Management activities
•   Prepare Rf(x) documents and analyze supplier bid packages to generate bid comparisons on pricing and risk factors
•   Manage categories with spend as required
•   Support measurement tracking efforts
 
Experience/Qualifications
•   Working towards a 4 year degree in business, finance, procurement, supply chain or related degree program
•   Strong analytical, business process analysis and problem solving capabilities
•   Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders
•   Data Analytics (specifically Excel)
•   Strong communication and collaboration skills
•   Financial acumen
