Overview of the Position
This position is based in Hartford, CT reporting into the Product & Pricing Center of Excellence (COE) and will be assigned to either the Auto or Home Leader as applicable. Our book of business supported by the COE is approximately Auto: $2.7B in Total Written Premium (TWP) and Home: $1.9B TWP.

Scope:
  • This position reports into the Product & Pricing Center of Excellence organization within Personal Lines product.
  • This position is an individual contributor role supporting the Auto or Home pricing, implementation and filing assigned regional/state and country-wide product management processes (assignments will vary).
  • Works cross functionally with: countrywide and state product management, technology, operations, technical services, country-wide actuarial, compliance and legal.
  • Seeks opportunities to conduct work more efficiently and reduce operating cost as applicable

Major Functions:
Executes State based Product Delivery - in accordance to plan and quality objectives
  • For assigned work/territories, develops deliverables/outcomes for assigned initiatives working in partnership with state Product Managers and receiving partners in technology, technical services in accordance with product process standards to include:
    • Support pricing assignments as required
    • State filing
    • IT Packs
    • Peer based checking in accordance with control plan expectations
    • AARP exhibits
    • Contributes to demand/work performance metrics
    • Rate and rule manual updates. Managing Rate and Rule Manual: Effective Management of Rate/Rule Manuals to provide state specific instruction on current and historic state strategies, rules and rating, regulation and Product nuances
    • Provides status reporting and ensures quality control procedures are completed
Product Delivery Governance, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement
  • Brings forward and may lead continuous improvement opportunities as identified focused on process excellence initiatives. Looks for opportunities to streamline work and reduce cost.
  • Works in partnership with COE Product Quality and Training leaders to ensure that our service delivery supports quality objectives and staff is developing skills to support work requirements.
  • Contributes in the design of solutions for daily workflow problems as applicable.
Executes State based Pricing - in accordance to plan and quality objectives
  • For assigned work/territories, working in partnership with state product management and country-wide pricing (CW Actuarial) to deliver pricing excellence aligned to state-based rate and non-rate actions:
    • Conduct state level trending analysis and selections
    • Develop and produce state level indications
    • Conduct dislocation analysis
    • Develop and produce state-level indications
    • Conduct dislocation analysis
    • Develop and produce ILF pages
    • Conduct coverage analysis for LDF,BI and UM
    • Provides status reporting and ensures quality control procedures are completed


Qualifications:
Experience & Skills

Technical/Functional Skills:
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Experience with using technology - systems
  • Time management skills - Manages own time and workload efficiently and ability to balance multiple priorities to fulfill all commitments within established timeframes.
  • Detail oriented - Attention to the important information that helps make up the big picture.
  • Independently performs work and takes responsibility for assignments.

Typical Education/Experience/Certifications/Licenses:
  • Bachelor's Degree or similar discipline required (i.e. M ath, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial, Finance)
  • Minimum 2 years of pricing and/or product experience preferred
  • Understanding of Auto or Home products strongly preferred (coverage's, forms, underwriting and new and renewal processes).
  • Basic knowledge of the systems that are used within Product Management strongly preferred
  • Business or Insurance industry experience
  • Participation in the Actuarial program preferred
