Product Management Director

Location: Must be within a commutable distance of an Anthem office -Northeast Region is preferred.

Responsible for the daily portfolio management of the Small Group Commercial product line to ensure meeting both short and long term profitability goals for ME & NH markets. Monitors product performance and the competitive environment to ensure portfolio meets competitive and strategic objectives. Responsible for identifying opportunities by synthesizing internal & external analysis and generating product recommendations that align to the business segment goals and state objectives using product levers or opportunities developed by the solution sets. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: develops product recommendations; identifies and removes low value and obsolete plans from the portfolio, creates and implements new products to the markets, makes changes or enhancements to existing portfolios to improve performance. Ensures products are compliant with regulatory directives and state/federal laws and policies as well as benefits are clearly described to internal and external constituents. Also responsible for conducting competitor analysis of detailed benefits and identifying opportunities to improve Anthem's position. Maintenance of benefit data in Product Management Tool, serving as benefit SME across ME & NH SG markets to ensure business partners understand intent of portfolio strategies and how benefits are intended to be functioning.
Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:

Develops, implements and maintains competitive product platform.

Partners with product managers and project team to achieve superior execution of product strategy in the marketplace.

Tracks individual product performance by benefit design, market segment and geography.

Supports the development of short and long term strategic product plans in support of market, sales and profitability objectives.

Identifies system needs to support short and long term product strategy.

Develops system requirements and software.

May lead effort or manage project teams in the implementation of regional and companywide initiatives including legislative changes, network/provider changes/ medical management program and policy initiatives, etc.

Requires a BA/BS degree; 5-8 years of product management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Demonstrated results in three or more of the following areas required:

o Product Development

o Market Strategy

o Market Research Risk Management.
MBA preferred.
