This is a mid-level, high-visibility, and high-impact individual contributor position on the SecureWorks Product Management team. In this position, you’ll be expected to drive results by creating and enhancing managed services for our clients, with a focus on network security services. In this role, you will work collaboratively to drive strategy and planning for the dynamic market of network protection. Your focus will be to work in collaboration with a cross functional team to develop a compelling vision for your components and to execute, measure, and adjust the strategy accordingly. This role requires experience in product management, information security, data analytics and network protection. You will use client input, market research, product management discipline, and experience to define plans and requirements for components that will be highly competitive in the market and can be delivered efficiently through our global Security Operations Centers.
-Lead and execute a strategy for a managed security services portfolio with multiple supporting technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and advanced malware protection
-Leverage a deep understanding of our users, threats and protection technologies, and our portal and back office infrastructure to drive integration of knowledge at the network into our platforms
-Maintain market definition, sizing, and direction. Become an authority on your markets and product / service areas
-Conduct competitive analysis so that, through you, the company remains informed about the competitive landscape
-Establish positioning and strategy with meaningful market differentiators
-Create and communicate coherent short and long term visions and roadmaps for your components
-Conduct primary and secondary research regarding your service areas with prospects and customers
-Create organizational alignment around offer goals, initiatives, and priorities, particularly as the SecureWorks portfolio evolves and changes
-Review and prioritize enhancement requests for each development cycle
-Review and prioritize bugs and efficiency improvements
-Ensure that your enhancements are developed and operationalized to your satisfaction, e.g. through user acceptance testing (You are the client’s voice within the company)
-Manage relationships with major stakeholders, internal business partners, and third-party vendors
-Make decisions about launches, global availability, and end-of-life strategy
-Manage service descriptions, SLAs, and pricing and packaging, as applicable
-Support product marketing and internal training in the creation of suitable materials for launch activities
-Support press and analyst activities as required
-Create and maintain an environment of transparency, accountability, and success with internal and external stakeholders and partners
-Evangelize offerings internally and externally
As a managed security provider, SecureWorks expects its employees to understand and apply commonly known security practices and possess a working knowledge of applicable industry controls such as NIST 800-53. Employees will be expected to acknowledge their security responsibilities in writing prior to gaining access to company systems. Employees will be required to maintain a working knowledge of local security policies and execute general controls as assigned.
-5 years as a Product Manager, or equivalent experience
-5 or more years experience with network security
-High-level technical understanding of managed security services and how they may be delivered
-Strong leadership skills – create/acquire a vision and align others around it
-Management skills necessary to manage self and others to completion of initiatives, even when these others do not report to you
-Analytic skills necessary create and analyze business cases and cost/benefit scenarios
-Communication skills necessary to reach a wide variety of perspectives represented by different internal groups
-A hunger for results and willingness to measure your own performance critically
-Strong ethics and integrity
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
-Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
-Pragmatic Marketing training and certification is preferred
Atlanta strongly preferred, Providence or Boston also preferred. SecureWorks supports a robust remote workforce and will consider qualified candidates in North America.
