Job Description:
The Position
The Product Manager develops the product roadmap through market research, competitive analysis, Sales support, and voice-of-customer projects. The product manager assists Engineering in the implementation of new solutions by authoring functional requirements and representing the end-user in a collaborative, Agile-based development methodology. The product manager will lead the launch of multiple new product releases per year through the preparation and delivery of release materials to train the Sales organization and other stakeholders on new product features.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the physical security industry, and specifically IP video surveillance technologies. An effective product manager in this position will have the ability to create strong relationships across a large geographically distributed enterprise in order to build consensus around his or her product vision. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are crucial to meeting quarterly release deadlines.

This role reports to Senior Product Manager of exacqVision products. The position is located in Fishers, IN.

Responsibilities include:
  • Analyze product input from Sales, Support, customers, and market sources
  • Prioritize features and maintain a product roadmap visible to stakeholders
  • Author Market Requirements Documentation to analyze new business opportunities
  • Define marketing and functional requirements in various formats, including screen mockups, user stories and use cases, to communicate the user experience to R&D
  • Assist the Sales organization in strategic opportunities by convincingly presenting to customers as a subject matter expert
  • Define product value proposition messaging for new releases
  • Author and deliver roadmap presentations and new release presentations to Sales, customers, and partners

Job Qualifications:

Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Four (4) year degree in an engineering or technical area of study. Alternately, four (4) year degree in business or marketing and relevant technology experience
  • Three (3) years experience in software product management
  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to pursue goals with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel 10% - 20%
Other desirable skills
  • 3-5 years of work experience in the security and surveillance market strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of IP networks and video streaming technologies
  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle Process
  • Goal-oriented with a strong drive for success
  • Clear bias to collaboration to achieve results
  • Attention to detail
  • Highly competent in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Capable of delivering convincing presentations on products to Sales, customers, R&D and senior staff
