Summary: The Production Associate performs repetitive manufacturing and assembly tasks to build and produce high quality window products.
The work is performed while under the guidance of the Supervisor / Assistant Supervisor. Regular shift hours - Monday through Friday, 6:30 am - 2:30 pm
or 4:30 pm - 12:30 am. Overtime as needed, including an occasional Saturday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
¿ Perform repetitive assembly tasks using hand and power tools, and automated equipment to build and produce high quality window products.
¿ Retrieve parts from green rack according to the pick list and deliver to the line. Report defective parts or questionable conditions to supervisor.
¿ Perform light fabrication (drill holes, measure, cut, saw) to facilitate product sub-assembly.
¿ Slide, lay, snap, crank or otherwise assemble materials to produce sub-assembly or finished product.
¿ Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
¿ Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
¿ Ability to communicate in oral or written English to carry out essential functions.
¿ Ability to read and understand visual and written assembly instructions on a computer screen to retrieve parts from a pick list.
¿ Ability to be cross-trained in multiple functions within and between multiple department lines.
¿ Ability to operate hand and power tools to fabricate and assemble.
¿ Ability to maintain regular and satisfactory attendance and punctuality.
Additional Responsibilities: Assist with inventory maintenance. Assist in the training/mentoring of new associate(s). Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Training: High school diploma/degree or GED is required. Resume required. Related computer experience or production experience is preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands: The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The individual works in a clean, well-lit plant/warehouse environment and is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, wet/humid/moderate heat conditions, and a moderate level of noise. The individual must have the ability to alternate standing or walking on concrete in order to float between multiple production lines. The individual must have the ability to lift, push or pull up to 40 lbs. above chest level and push or pull up to 15 inches above shoulder to move the green cart and to pick and reposition product parts. The associate must have the ability to reach above the shoulders and bend out in front up to 150 times in an 8-9 hour work day.
