Production Generalist Associate, Sr.- Continuous Print Operator

Shift Information: Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 pm-6:00 am

This group specializes in the production of debit, credit, gift and pre-paid cards; membership and health identification cards; statements; invoices; explanation of benefits and tax forms. The business also provides document management, branded merchandise and direct marketing services, and offers Electronic Document Delivery solutions that allow clients to securely archive and deliver high-volume e-documents, including statements, bills and reports, to their customers.

Senior Production Generalist

Perform somewhat difficult machining and assembly tasks in an efficient and timely manner to setup and operate most all production machines, perform all manual / assembly production tasks, and other required activities necessary to deliver quality products to the customer on time. Work activity may include, but is not limited to, embossing, datamatch, inserting, metering, and other type machining as well as sortation, envelope stuffing, assembly, and miscellaneous hand work.   May also operate special production machines.  Except for very difficult and unusual assignments, the incumbent is expected to basically be able to work independent of supervisory or technical assistance.  Requires the ability to perform multi-tasking on an on-going basis and may be assigned to operate more than one (1) machine simultaneously requiring focused concentration for extended periods. 

Satisfactory performance requires a high degree of skill and broad knowledge of production technology and methodology and very efficient PC user skills.  At this level ingenuity is frequently needed and expected to solve work problems and maintain timely work schedules.  Very often the incumbent will be assigned to coach, train, assist, and help others with work. Requires ability to work from verbal or written instructions, operational data, work routing sheets, and miscellaneous work documents and specifications ---- all in English.  Perform minor maintenance and work with others to provide assistance with major maintenance projects when assigned. Comply with all general work rules including housekeeping, safety, and quality – required to keep own work area clean and orderly.   Incumbent understands that he/she reports to the department supervisor and receives direction and work assignments from that supervisor.  Often, however, the Production Coordinator will assist the supervisor in assignment of work, follow up on work status, and in general work with people to resolve production issues and problems. Whenever the Production Coordinator assigns work to an individual, that person is obligated to follow his/her direction.  The incumbent is expected to perform all duties and tasks within his/her regular department or job and when assigned, in any other department or job to the best of his/her individual skill and ability.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Perform somewhat difficult machine and assembly duties to setup and operate most all machines and perform all manual and related tasks.   

2.Except for very difficult or unusual assignments incumbent basically must be able to work independent of supervisory or technical assistance.    

3.Perform multi-tasking – may operate more than one machine simultaneously – must be willing to cross train.           

4.Utilize high degree of skill and broad knowledge of production technology and methodology to perform required machining and manual tasks.

5. Process many transactions to send and receive information requiring very efficient PC user skills.           

6.Improvise frequently to assure work is performed skillfully, efficiently, results in quality output, and is finished timely.           

7.Often assigned to coach, train, assist, and help others with work.    

8.Works from verbal and written instructions, work specifications, routing sheets, etc.; uses basic math ---- all in English.           

9.Performs minor maintenance regularly and may assist maintenance people with major maintenance repair.           

10.May utilize and/or operate material moving equipment, carts, etc. and use most production tooling including hand tools and precision devices.       

11.When assigned perform duties and tasks outside department and job to the best of individual skill and ability.

12.Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as work schedules require.  In peak periods additional overtime is required.         

13.Comply with general work rules – responsible for quality of own work, housekeeping of own work area, and to work safely.     

14.Physical Requirements: Work requires incumbent to be mobile and in a standing / walking position with ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.  Uses hands to handle, finger, or feel objects and to perform keyboarding.  Also uses hands and arms to reach and grab objects.  Sometimes it is necessary to crouch or kneel.  Successful performance requires good vision abilities including close vision.     

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience: Generally up to 30 hours of vocational or related education is preferred, and typically, up to 5 years including 3 years as a Production  Generalist and 2 additional years as a Production Specialist or equivalent combination of education and experience. Time classified in the specific job classifications does not automatically qualify an individual. In addition to the time guidelines, an individual must meet all other job requirements and a company approved job opening must exist.  The incumbent needs fast pace, high volume production experience and very good understanding of production techniques.

Functional Area Skills/Knowledge: Requires very efficient PC user skills – keyboarding, data entry, and information lookup is essential.  Must be able to utilize the appropriate modules of the computerized business system and to update all required work data information. Requires good organizational skills and the ability to stay under control while working with continually changing multi-tasks in a deadline work environment.  Must have high level machining/assembly skills to perform efficiently and provide quality products for timely delivery to customers.
