Pay Rate/Salary: At least $15 / Hour
Primary Purpose of Position:
Responsible for performing and/or overseeing all job functions of Firelog production lines to include the extruders, wrappers, packing lines and product palletization. Responsible for training and assigning production associates to facilitate efficient production.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining top quality Firelogs at regulated speeds in order to meet production goals.
Monitors/assists with distribution of mix into the extruders and ensures that proper log weights are maintained.
Monitors/assists packing line. Ensures products are packed into the appropriate containers and proper packing patterns are followed.
Monitors/assists with product palletization.
Ensures appropriate operation of manual/automatic wrappers including wrap changes.
Completes all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
Assists with training and development of production associates.
Responsible for machinery changeovers.
Checks all materials and supplies and takes appropriate action to prevent or limit the receipt of nonconforming materials.
Monitors product quality and takes appropriate action to prevent or limit production or shipment of non-conforming product.
Conducts/assists in investigations to determine causes of quality defects.
Performs daily preventative maintenance and safety inspections on assigned equipment. Reports any issues to supervisor.
Complies with assigned production goals and follows proper procedures in order to achieve these goals. Assigns production associates and determines use of equipment and procedures. Informs supervisor when it appears that production goals will not be met.
Observes Plant safety rules. Assists in identifying and eliminating safety hazards and/or concerns.
Performs all job duties in a timely and efficient manner. Contributes to Plant cost reduction.
Participates in 5S initiatives by maintaining a neat and orderly work area.
Facilitates team concepts by working cooperatively and productively with others in order to complete assigned tasks.
Reports any problems or concerns to supervisor.
Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, or others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.
Requires regular attendance to perform essential job functions between the assigned start and end times for work.

Job Requirements BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:High School Diploma or GED
Experience/Knowledge: Two-three year�s manufacturing experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of production equipment.
Demonstrated knowledge of Machine Operator I-III job duties.
TECHNICAL ROLE COMPETENCIES:
Comprehensive knowledge of functions such as planning, organizing, coordinating and directing.
Excellent communication skills.
Interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with individuals internal and external to the Company.
Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations.
Understanding of mechanical workings of a variety of production machinery.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Walking/standing approximately 90% of work time. Sitting at a work station approximately 10% of work time.
Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.
Typical factory environment with concrete floors and moving equipment.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
