Other Required Skills and Qualifications
Detail Oriented : From creating specific and clear requirements specs, to understanding the trade-offs that come with each engineering decision, to identifying and managing intricate dependencies, you are well organized and ensure that all details are covered in a given release.
High Standards : There are critical moments when someone will say "good enough" and your job is to ask if we can do better. You ensure that we build high quality products for our customers, with great attention to the scalability of our processes and products.
Fierce Reducer : Overly complicated solutions add complexity and are difficult to maintain. You reduce what product wants to the bare essence of what needs to be built to satisfy the customer need. You invent new processes and technologies when what we have won't cut it.
Deep Domain Knowledge : You have a deep understanding of the technologies we use and those that we don't. There is no task that is too small for you, because you have a deep well of knowledge upon which to draw and help find solutions to our problems.
Concise : We do exactly what is needed, and nothing more. Conservation of resources is important. You are boiling down the requirements to what is needed and keep scope creep at bay. From executives to junior developers, internal and across partnerships, you'll ensure everyone maintains a consistent vision and that progress, issues and needs are well understood.
Build Trust and Accountability : To be effective, you need the alignment of engineering, product, analytics and operations. It's your job to ensure work is designed and executed in the right way, but you need to be open minded and a good listener. You have strong convictions, but are savvy enough to know when to bend. You must be willing to take ownership of your mistakes. Holding everyone accountable to business commitments is one of your core values.
Technology/Process : Experience with Agile Software development principles and familiarity with associated planning tools such as Rally, JIRA or similar packages. Programming background or experience in mining/analyzing data (via SQL, Excel, etc) a plus.
Work Experience/Education : 6-8 years professional experience with 4 years of program management experience in internet-related software applications, big data management, and advertising technologies; BA/BS in a quantitative discipline; MBA from leading university desirable.
