The Woodland Hills, CA office of Farmers Group, Inc. seeks a Program Manager I to plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects.
Specific duties include: serves as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects; plans project stages and assess business implications for each stage; monitors progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met; plans and controls day to day project tasks & budget; manages a group or staff and works with business unit to define needs & arranges appropriate resources; coordinates delivery of work from all suppliers for a large scale project, including risk, quality, change management, schedule and financial management; accountable for development of work orders/cost estimation to/from suppliers; May require occasional traveling regionally or globally.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, or a related IT field plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as a Project Manager, Programmer Analyst, Associate Manager: Application Delivery or similar position.
Experience must include 5 years of experience working with Business Insurance, and with Mainframe related development tools and languages. Experience must also include at least 3 years of experience with each of the following: Data modeling with query and data extraction related programming, such as using TMF; working with solution design patterns; reviewing of program modules/components; researching and communicating up to date technology and business trends; analysis of systems performance and system performance improvements; Program/project management along with overseeing staff; communicating project updates and results with peers and senior management, both in writing and orally. Must be willing to occasionally travel regionally or globally.
