Program Manager I

Under the direction of the Director of Product Strategy and Planning, the Program Manager I will work closely with the Product Management team to implement regulatory, contractual and product-related changes for the Public Plan division of Tufts Health Public Plans. The Program Manager I will manage (directly or indirectly) projects that include analysis, assessment, planning, implementation, risk management, and post-implementation activities for both regulatory, contractual and product initiatives. The Program Manager I will engage the key internal stakeholders whose business areas, including but not limited to Compliance, Legal, Government Affairs, Service and Operations, Clinical/Care Management, Provider, Quality Improvement, IT, Marketing/Communications and etc. to assess impact , risk, and implementation requirements for identified regulatory, contractual, and product changes . In addition, the Program Manager I will provide regular program related updates to stakeholders and will be expected to assist in the development and monitoring of the regulatory implementation program and initiatives.

The Program Manager I will work closely with the appropriate Tufts Health Plan Departments and vendors to operationalize day to day operations of developed programs or to modify existing programs with the support of Product Strategy and Planning Managers. This role operates as an independent contributor and will be expected to collaborate with the Product team owners, sponsors or steering committees.


  • Manages small to medium departmental initiatives, assessments and short-term initiatives, and supports components of larger cross functional and/or public plans initiatives.
  • Lead sessions/work groups as appropriate.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings on initiatives including business requirement sessions.
  • Responsible for escalating issues and pro-actively identifying and analyzing options for solutions.
  • Prepare and/or present project timelines, workflows, and updates to internal and/or external stakeholders.
  • Effectively resolve roadblocks to initiate progress.
  • Influence the owner, sponsor, steering committee and other appropriate senior management to participate and take action towards the success of the initiative as needed.
  • Demonstrate a willingness and proficiency for involvement at a high level, managing Product related projects, while providing "hands on" assistance in specific project deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain key documentations including but not limited to work flow charts, process maps, Product program/project database, project plans, and monitoring reports.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of regulatory implementation programs.
  • Participate in product/process audits as required.
  • Support other activities within Product Management as required.
  • Work with supervisor to identify areas/departments in need of process improvement and partner with those areas on small-scale assignments as schedule permits.
