Position Summary:
The Programmer's main priority is developing and maintaining computer applications for end user groups. Assignments are generally given to incumbent by their department management. Programmers are involved in light project management, but are more often part of a team. Incumbent is responsible to manage their time appropriately, and must report out on project progress to department management.

Major Responsibilities:
-Develops code, tests, and debugs new application
-Write programs based on system specifications
-Involved in analyzing system/software code to detect any bugs in the application code and may
be responsible to debug, test, and deploy system fixes
-Performs maintenance on existing programs and makes enhancements to applications based on user requirements
-Support existing applications and processes
-Resolves customer issues with applications and responds to client group requests
-Understands and demonstrates the importance of customers to the organization's success
-Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

-0-3 years of functional experience required
-1-3 years of C experience required
-1-3 years of Java experience required
-1-3 years of OOA, OOD, and OOT experience required
-1-3 years of Javascript experience preferred
-1-3 years of HTML experience preferred
-Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) preferred
-Basic understanding of SQL and RDBMS Design concepts preferred
-Some knowledge of AS400 / RPG programming preferred
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to work in a team environment and/or as an individual contributor are required
-Bachelor's Degree - Computer Science
-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required
