Johnson & Johnson Customer & Logistics Services (CLS) is a global Supply Chain organization that supports operating units across all of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies.  CLS strives to deliver an exceptional customer experience through leading critical customer facing-functions such as distribution and transportation. In addition, CLS oversees critical business enablers, including how we gather and manage supply chain master data, safe and secure supply chain practices, product identification standards, and market/channel access capabilities. CLS supports all three sectors of Johnson & Johnson: Medical Device & Diagnostics, Pharmaceutical, and Consumer Products.  This team is represented in multiple countries, and continues to grow globally in both visibility and responsibility.   The CLS team reports to Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain and partners closely with groups throughout the supply chain organization.

Job Description:
  • Organize, manage and oversee Engineering and Technical projects relating to the CLS as directed by management; manage the development of assigned engineering projects.
  • Performs a variety of engineering functions involving process improvement and supporting the maintenance and procedures focusing on equipment, vendors and builders.
  • Coordinate high-level project activities and maintain accountability for overall project success; develop project plans, timelines and resource requirements; facilitate cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Takes a leading position interfacing with all of the necessary organizations (Facilities, Safety, Production Planning, Manufacturing, Suppliers, as well as others) to provide for design support, buy-in and implementation.
  • Adheres to environmental policy, procedures, and supports department environmental objectives.
  • Direct, control and facilitate the project activities of CLS Engineering to meet tactical/strategic plans of the organization.
  • Provide support and training to the technical staff; in meeting tactical and strategic business needs.
  • Supports the qualification of new equipment and performs vendor and site acceptance testing to meet government standards. 
  • Manage and participate in projects for control systems and software based projects across a cross functional multidiscipline team environment. 
  • Participates in troubleshooting and resolving equipment, systems, and process problems to prevent the occurrence of product non-conformity.
  • Serve as the Engineering expert for Operations to ensure all activities and projects align to the site goals and adhere to good engineering practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management. 

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment with experience in the design, build, install and qualification of automated equipment is required.
  • Project Management experience is required.
  • Experience with automated control systems in a distribution or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • PLC programming and PLC debug/troubleshooting experience is required.
  • Background in Siemens S7, Allen Bradley ControlLogix 5000, and HMI software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of printer systems, vision systems, robotics, BCR and RFID systems is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the engineering principles; concepts and practices is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of Computer Systems Validation and GAMP5 is required.
  • Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, Greenbelt certification is preferred.
  • Experience working in regulated environment is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Excellent collaboration skills required.
  • Managing multiple priorities and work in a virtual team environment is required.
  • This position requires 30% travel both domestic and international.

This position is located in Jacksonville, Florida and may require up to 30% travel, domestic and/or international.
